DVD Replication
DVD Replication is the professional process where the data or video information is stamped onto a DVD, using a stamper made from a Glass master, which is created from your source master. Each DVD produced is an exact copy of the original master.
The disc is covered with a protective, transparent coating so that it can be read by a laser beam. As with other optical disks nothing touches the encoded portion, and the DVD is not worn out by the playing process. Because DVD players are backwards compatible to existing technologies, they can play CD and CD-ROM discs; however, CD players cannot play DVD and DVD-ROM discs. DVDs are of the same dimensions as compact discs (CD), but store more than six times as much data.
